The food is simple and delicious. I tried the fish, the burger and the frites - perfectly happy with all. The staff is kind and overall experience was wonderful.
I’ve enjoyed dining at La Lucha, Superica( Now Star River) and other Rocket Farm Restaurants, so I knew I had to try State of Grace another concept by Houston’s native top chef, Ford Fry. From the moment we arrived, the experience was impressive. Valet parking is available, and I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. The restaurant has an upscale yet welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a special night out. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. I dined with a party of six, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The food was exceptional across the board, and the ambiance made the evening even more memorable. As a nice touch, don’t forget to grab a complimentary cookie on your way out—it’s the perfect ending to a great experience. If you’re looking for a five-star dining experience or planning a lavish date night, State of Grace is definitely the place to be.
I had the most amazing off menu seven course dinner with wine pairing experience! They even treated me to a little caviar and champagne before the experience began. The food was amazing, the staff was attentive and engaged, and the restaurant was beautiful! I can't wait to go back and try out the oyster bar! They definitely made my birthday special!
I recently visited this lovely restaurant while in town with some friends. We ordered Mocktails, Caviar Tots, Crab Hush Puppies, and one of the most flavorful chicken plates in Houston. Everything about this experience was amazing including the service. We will definitely visit again!
We came to try the pancakes that Jesus Aguilar says are the best in Houston. My husband, a pancake aficionado, said they are the best of his life! The crawfish Benedict & cinnamon roll were also great. Our servers were top notch & the management checked on us several times during our brunch. Great dining experience.

The space is absolutely beautiful, creating the perfect setting for everything from a casual dinner to a special night out. From the moment you arrive, the awesome service stands out…attentive, polished, and genuinely friendly, making the entire evening feel seamless and enjoyable. The food overall was enjoyable, though the gumbo was just OK for me. It had a solid foundation but didn’t quite have the depth of flavor I was hoping for. That said, the crab hush puppies absolutely stole the show. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, they were perfectly balanced and completely addictive. Easily the highlight of the meal and something I’d come back for again and again. Between the beautiful ambiance, excellent hospitality, and standout starters, State of Grace remains a fantastic Houston dining destination worth visiting.
My favorite restaurant in Houston they always have amazing oysters fresh and delicious superb service. Excellent wine great staff and guest at atmosphere is a 10 out of 10. I had the two ladies in the Oyster room on last Saturday. This past Saturday passed. They were absolutely phenomenal. Also, there’s other servers that are amazing as well including Johnathan and Juan such exceptional service.. will always come back
Ambiance and service were exceptional. The presentation was beautiful and the happy hour oyster pricing was an excellent value. The griddle cakes soak up the butter and syrup quickly, so it's best to add them a little at a time as you eat. They're also generous enough to easily share between two people with lighter appetites.

Our server, Faith, provided impeccable service, and every member of the staff played a pivotal role in making the aftermoon truly special. We recently celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday at State of Grace, and it was truly an exceptional dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was out of this world. The front hostess, Annabella, was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel valued from the start. Our waiter was equally amazing and attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring we had a wonderful evening. We started with the deviled eggs and crab beignets, both of which were absolutely delicious. Their French onion soup was hearty. Drinks were fabulous too. For our meal, we ordered the mashed potatoes, cacio e pepe, pork schnitzel, blackened fish, miso fish, and burger, and every dish was perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. The restaurant went above and beyond by surprising my mother-in-law with a birthday dessert (upon my request when I had originally booked it), which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration even more memorable. We also enjoyed the pecan ball and chocolate soufflé, and both were outstanding. Between the incredible food, impeccable service, and special attention to our celebration, State of Grace exceeded all expectations. Annabella, our waiter, and the entire staff made the evening feel truly special. Easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Houston, and we can’t wait to return! I will be planning a girls night there soon!
